TESTIMONIAL FROM LOCL POLICE AUTHORITY:
"I wanted to drop you a quick line to recognise all of the hard work that you put in behind the scenes leading up to last week’s Doncaster Armed Forces Day. Without your determination I’m confident that the Armed Forces Day event in Doncaster would still not have been the safe, outstanding and universally praised event, which could continue to pose a higher threat to the public, military personnel and veterans.

There is rightly some pride to be taken by the implementation of the first ATTRO in South Yorkshire and the subsequent vehicle mitigation used by you and your team. ACC Thorpe was adamant, following the Nottingham attack, that the need to increase Vehicle mitigation was paramount in the week leading up to the AFD. Your liaison with myself, Jenny and the events teams clearly worked to deliver a practical and proportionate plan.

The event was unique in the need to accommodate, 2500 military and visitors, 3 weddings, a flat move and number of residents prevented from parking in their usual bays (on top of business as usual Doncaster . However, this was managed by your staff sensitively and co-operation with Jenny and the DCC team.

Within a week of notification of the required upgrades, you had met, priced and guaranteed the most appropriate vehicles to be used in the vulnerable locations. I observed your staff at the scene, conducting local recces, offered guidance to the public, knowledgeable and gave limitations to the road network and times of operation.

The team were well motivated, professional, keen to generate positive interactions in some challenging conditions and happy to suggest ideas wherever possible.

Thank you
Joel"

Collett Heavy Transport - Motorway Closures (High Speed Operations)

CLIENT:
Collett Heavy Transport

SERVICE:
High Speed Closure - A1M Jct 42-43 Northbound & Southbound

CLIENT BRIEF:
We will be taking the M62 Westbound then A1M Northbound. Whilst on the A1M N/B we will cross over and drive North on the A1M S/B carriageway. This will be done utilising the gate within the barrier between Jct 42 – Jct 43 at OS GRID Ref: SE 43868 34134. We will continue A1M North on the S/B carriageway until we reach the fork for the M1 S/B. We will stop the abnormal load here and then detach the trucks, turn them around, re-attach, then pull the abnormal load South on the M1 S/B. To do this we will need the A1M Northbound & Southbound full closure between Jct 42 – Jct 43. We will also require lane 1 & 2 closure on the M1 S/B allowing us to pull into lane 1 & 2 when pulling the abnormal load M1 S/B. To include all TTRO applications. The abnormal load will be under West Yorkshire Police Escort for the entire journey. We are asked to carry out this manoeuvre early hours of a Sunday morning only. Could you please offer your quote to provide all of the above including traffic management plan. We would like to transport this load as soon as possible. Your earliest response will be appreciated.
Best regards
